The International Women Artists’ Salon (IWAS) is a New York-founded social enterprise that gives female identifying creatives around the world a platform to showcase their talent and engage with each other. We offer the Global Community opportunities to collaborate with creative women across a wide range of disciplines, as well as support women artists on their artistic journey.

Shengning Lang
Cosplayer/Hanfu Revivalist
Lang comes from China and is a math and Economics double-major student in Stony Brook University. Along with her collaborators, she has experience in Cosplay (costume play) for six years.
Recently, she is focusing on reviving the cultural discussion about Hanfu, the traditional attire of ancient China.

Formed in 1997, creates contemporary dance-based performances exploring transformation. The company was cited as one of the Top Ten performances by The New York Times, The Boston Globe & The Boston Phoenix and the Boston Herald and has been called “a distinctive...beautiful mover” by the New Yorker.

Our continued partnership with NYC’s Funkadelic Studios in Hell’s Kitchen NYC presents a dynamic showcase of music centric work by self-identifying women and non-binary artists from around the world every first Sunday of the month.

Tickets available through Eventbrite and at-the-door for $10. 100% of ticket sales will go towards paying the presenting artists, host and team. Paying artists and arts workers is a top goal of both IWAS and Funkadelic Studios to contribute towards the stable economic well-being of being an artist, the irreplaceable foundation of a robust society.
